Lorraine Razzell (Principal) BA (Hons) LRAD, ARAD RTS

Lorraine started dancing at the age of 3 at her local dance school where she completed RAD and ISTD examinations in Ballet, Tap, Modern, National and Classical Greek. She also took part in numerous performances and competitions, including the prestigious All England Young Dancer Competition.  She went on to train at the Royal Academy of Dance in London where she completed a BA (Hons) degree in the Art and Teaching of Ballet.

After graduation Lorraine joined the contemporary dance company Three-Fortyone Dances. She also worked at the vocational performing arts' school, Urdang, teaching on both the diploma and degree courses and managing part time courses and outreach programmes. Most recently Lorraine has been running the dance department at St James Schools, London.

When she is not teaching Lorraine lives with her partner James and two cats Louis and Oscar. She enjoys Pilates, Yoga, cooking, gardening, walks in the countryside and dancing!

Esme Calcutt

Esme Calcutt joined The Dance Barn in September 2019. Esme started her dance training in Oxfordshire and was successful in gaining a place at the prestigious London Studio Centre which she graduated from with a first class honours degree. Esme has toured with the Images Ballet Company and performed in "Dance Overture" at the New Wimbledon Theatre and "Moving Words" at the artsdepot, North Finchley. As a younger dance she performed "Swan Lake" "Coppelia" and "Sleeping Beauty" with the English Youth Ballet, and was awarded the "Most Promising Young Dancer Award". She has trained in syllabuses of the Royal Academy of Dance, Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance and British Theatre Dance Association and has taught for the Deddington Ballet School.
